Synthesis of some Novel Chromenopyrimidine Derivatives and Evaluation of Their Biological Activities

Authors

Abstract:

AbstractPyrimidine nucleosides are constituents of fundamental structure of the cells. There has been considerable attentions in the chemistry of pyrimidine derivatives due to having a wide range of biological activities such as antiviral, anti-malarial agents, cytostatic, antithelemintic, antibacterial, adenosine receptor ligands, anti-cancer agents, compounds targeting delayed-type hypersensivity and anti-convulsant agents. As a part of our research work in the synthesis of pyrimidines containing biological activities, a series of chromenopyrimidine derivatives were synthesized by reaction of an intermediate imine and ammonia derivatives in good to high yields. All synthesized compounds were characterized using IR and NMR (1H and 13C) spectroscopy and elemental analysis data. The antibacterial activity of these compounds was investigated against Staphylococcus aureus (RTCC, 1885), and Escherichia Coli (ATCC, 35922).

Electrochemical Synthesis of Novel 1,3-Indandione Derivatives and Evaluation of Their Antiplatelet Aggregation Activities

Electrochemical oxidation of some selected catechol derivatives, using cyclic voltammetry, in the presence of different 2-aryl-1,3-indandiones as nucleophiles, resulted in electrochemical synthesis of new 1,3- indandione derivatives in an undivided cell in good yield and purity. A Michael addition mechanism was proposed for the formation of the analogs based on the reaction conditions which wer...

Synthesis, characterization and biological activities of some novel isatin derivatives

A series of novel (arylimino-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-indol-1-yl)-acetic acid N'-(4-aryl-2-yl)-hydrazide derivatives (5a-g) were synthesized. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, H-, C-NMR and mass spectroscopy. The compounds were screened in vitro for antibacterial and antifungal activities against some human pathogenic microorganisms by t...
